Susanne Bier (Danish: [suˈsænə ˈpiɐ̯ˀ]; born 15 April 1960) is a Danish filmmaker. Bier is the first female director to receive an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a European Film Award, collectively. Bier made her feature film debut with Freud's Leaving Home (1991).
