Myung-whun Chung (Korean: 정명훈; born 22 January 1953) is a South Korean conductor and pianist. Career. Performer. Chung studied piano with Maria Curcio and won joint second-prize in the 1974 International Tchaikovsky Competition. He performed in the Chung Trio with his sisters, violinist Kyung-wha Chung and cellist Myung-wha Chung. Conducting and musical direction. Chung studied conducting at the Mannes College of Music and the Juilliard School.
