Lisa Oudens Monaco (born February 25, 1968) is an American attorney who has served as the thirty-ninth United States deputy attorney general since April 21, 2021. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Monaco previously served as homeland security advisor under President Barack Obama from 2013 to 2017. In this role, she served as the chief counterterrorism advisor to the president and was a statutory member of the U.S. Homeland Security Council.
