Muhammad al‑Yaqoubi is a Syrian-born Islamic scholar, author, and spiritual guide. He combines deep traditional knowledge with active engagement in global issues.

He memorised the Qur’an in early childhood and studied under his father, Shaykh Ibrahim al‑Yaqoubi, at the Grand Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. Soon after, he earned ijazahs in Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, and Sufism, and began teaching by age 20.

He holds a degree in Arabic Literature from Damascus University and pursued postgraduate studies in linguistics in Sweden. In 1999, he became the Mufti of Sweden. After criticizing the Assad regime in 2011, he went into exile and now leads the Sacred Knowledge initiative from Morocco.

He has authored books and audio content on spirituality, debate, and theology. Notably, he wrote *Refuting ISIS*, a major work rejecting extremist ideology. He remains active internationally, lecturing in Arabic and English, and is listed among the 500 Most Influential Muslims.

His legacy blends classical Islamic scholarship with modern relevance. Muhammad al‑Yaqoubi continues to inspire students, communities, and leaders through teaching, writing, and spiritual mentorship.
