Ustadha Hosai Mojaddidi, co-founder of MH4M (Mental Health 4 Muslims), is a prominent educator, public speaker, writer, and spiritual counselor. Born in Afghanistan and moving to the United States at the age of two, Hosai Mojaddidi has been deeply involved in the Bay Area and Southern California Muslim communities for nearly 20 years, working and volunteering for numerous notable organizations.

Her Islamic journey began in 1996 in Hayward, California, under the mentorship of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf. This foundation in Islamic learning, supplemented by her studies at the renowned Zaytuna Institute (now Zaytuna College), has equipped her with extensive knowledge in Qur’anic memorization, fiqh, seerah, aqeeda, tazkiyyah an-nafs, and other sacred sciences. She has studied under esteemed scholars such as Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi, Imam Zaid Shakir, and Qari Amar Bellaha.

Hosai Mojaddidi’s primary focus is creating a strong sisterhood within the Muslim community. She leads halaqas (spiritual study circles) and support groups, offering individual spiritual counseling and mentoring. Recognizing the intersection between spiritual and mental health issues, she, along with her cousin Dr. Nafisa Sekandari, founded Mental Health 4 Muslims (MH4M) in 2010. This platform provides clinically supported and Islamically sound information on common mental health issues, addressing a crucial need within the community.

As a freelance writer and editor, Mojaddidi lectures on various Islamic and spiritual topics, extending her reach and impact. She conducts year-round classes on spiritual and self-development for adults and youth through local and national organizations. Her topics include parenting, marriage and family, women’s issues, youth issues, spirituality, seerah, social-emotional learning, social media literacy, and mental health advocacy.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Ustadha Hosai is an active content creator on social media, sharing her insights and knowledge with a broader audience. She is a published author and a dedicated wife and mother of two, residing in California. Her work continues to inspire and guide many, reinforcing her commitment to the well-being of the Muslim community.
